... Comments

The Act provides a new partial exemption for community sports clubs registered under the Registration of Clubs (Ireland) Act 1904 from commercial rates. This means that clubs will not be liable for commercial rates on buildings used exclusively for community sports, to generate income from participants, or by community organisations using the building for community purposes.

Community sports clubs are required to complete an application form (Form R2) and provide the necessary documents and submit them to the Valuations Office. The deadline for the application to be handed in is the 15th of September.

Link for application form can be found here.

The application can be handed in or sent via post to Sports Club Applications, Valuation Office, Block 2, Irish Life Centre, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1, D01 E9X0.
